Path of Exile—which is often abbreviated PoE—is a popular action role-playing game. This aRPG is free-to-play and uses a top-down perspective not unlike Diablo II. PoE is also a loot game. There is so much loot in the game and each piece of loot is randomized, which means it can be difficult to get precisely the item you want just by having it drop from a mob that you’ve killed.

That’s where trading comes in. There’s currency in PoE as well as a robust economy. Although you may not find the exact piece you’re looking for, you will find valuable items. All of the features provided by PoE TradeMacro are executed using keyboard shortcuts. The most basic and fundamental of these features is item info. Simply hover over an item in your inventory and execute the macro. It will provide you many details about the item, including possible numeric ranges, that aren’t available in game and would otherwise have to be looked up from a wiki or similar resource.

Another shortcut allows you to price check items, and this information is based on the PoE.Trade website. It will show you the same or similar items that are selling on that website at the lowest price. It will also provide you the average price, the median price and other relevant information. The added details are useful in order to ensure that the low prices aren’t an attempt at price fixing.

PoE TradeMacro also provides an advanced search for items. When you activate this feature, you’ll have access to a Windows dialog box, which lets you enter many details about the item that you want to sell. While this step isn’t necessary for most items, it can help you get a much more accurate estimate when trying to price an item that may be very valuable due to many coveted affixes and good rolls.

PoE TradeMacro is not a standalone program. It is a script for the program AutoHotkey, which provides a powerful scripting language.
